During this unit of study, students will be exploring the various aspects of the Renaissance and evaluating how this time period changed the world as we know it. Students will be able to connect how the middle ages devastated Europe and the need for reform and rebirth. Students will examine different inventions and discoveries as well as changes in the social, political and economical state of Europe.
The students finished the year last year with the Middle Ages in Europe. It’s time to give them some good news! Europe is reborn! We will be using some primary sources to deepen our understanding of the time period. Students will learn about different artists, scientists, writers, and the brilliant minds of different scholars during the age of the Renaissance. We will also talk about how the Roman Catholic Church had to make a lot of changes in order to keep their public happy.
